INTRODUCTION

Crushers are in the news. Witness these items from InfoMine's news desk:

  • Asian Mineral announced the purchase of a second-hand crushing circuit for its Ban Phuc nickel project in Vietnam. Bought through 70%-owned Ban Phuc Nickel Mines Ltd (BPNM), the purchase will reduce total project capital by an estimated $450,000 from US$33.6-million to US$33.15-million.
  • Crowflight Minerals Inc has announced that it has reached definitive agreements to purchase a previously operated surface crusher and fixed rockbreaker, various surface buildings and underground electrical components for its Bucko Deposit in the Thompson Nickel Belt, Manitoba. The all inclusive cost for the purchase and installation of these components is approximately $1.0 million below what was estimated to have been the cost of similar new component scenarios in the recently completed feasibility study.
  • Metso Minerals will supply crushing equipment to Associated Manganese Limited (ASSMANG) for its new BKM iron ore expansion project in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa. The project will be completed by November 2007. The value for the equipment is approximately EUR 12.5 million.
  • ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik received an order from Huaneng Yimin Coal to deliver a new continuous coal crushing and haulage system for the phase 2 expansion of the Yimin open pit. The mine, close to the town of Yimin in Inner Mongolia, China, supplies coal to the local power station of Huaneng Power International, one of China's biggest independent power utilities. The total order is worth around €17.5 million.
